About My Approach
My approach to therapy is both empathic and integrative. I may use several methods and approaches to address the areas on which you wish to focus and to facilitate long-lasting change, such as cognitive and behavioral techniques designed to change how you think and behave and techniques designed to gain insight into feelings, thoughts and behaviors. In the beginning, I learn more about the client's life and their goals for therapy. We then collaboratively develop a treatment plan. As our work continues, we can re-evaluate goals and areas of focus. I typically see clients individually (but sometimes with other family members) on a once-weekly basis. There may be times when we may need to meet more or less often, depending on your needs and goals.
I work with children, adolescents, adults and families. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, trauma and post-traumatic stress, grief, and relationship issues. I have extensive experience with children and adolescents, LGBT adolescents and adults, individuals affected by addiction, and adults with developmental disabilities. For more information, please see my Psychology Today webpage.
I am not an in-network provider with insurance companies at this time but my office can provide you with a form to submit to your insurance if your plan provides out-of-network benefits. My office accepts cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
